AVID

AVID is a global non-profit organization that began right here in Southern California (San Diego) more than 30 years ago.

The AVID Program

One of the major areas of focus at Upland Unified is to increase the number of students who meet the requirements to enter four-year colleges upon graduation. Our AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program is available in six of our elementary schools, both of our junior high schools and both of our high schools. AVID helps prepare all students for college and other postsecondary education opportunities. 

We embrace AVID’s research-based curriculum and strategies as our students develop critical thinking, literacy, and math skills across all content areas.
