STAR - CST

The California Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program consists of the California Standards Tests (CST) that measure student achievement in English Language Arts, Mathematics, History/Social Science and Science.  State STAR results are available at:

Academic Performance Index (API)

The API measures district and school progress in meeting overall achievement expectations.  Scores range from a low of 200 to a high of 1000.  The state target is an API score of 800.  State API results are available at:

Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)

The No Child Left Behind includes a measure of the percent of students in the district or at a school who meet overall achievement expectations.  By the year 2014, districts and schools are expected to have all of their students proficient in the subjects tested.  State AYP results are available at:
