Transitional kindergarten is the first year of a two-year program that provides a bridge between preschool and kindergarten for children turning five-years-old between September 2 and December 2. It gives young learners an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that is tailored to meet their academic and social needs.
Why Transitional Kindergarten?
Research shows that children who attend kindergarten readiness programs such as ours are more likely to do well in school and attend college. With that goal as our focus, we have designed our TK curriculum specifically to help our young learners get the best start possible. We are happy to be able to provide UUSD children with the opportunity to learn in an enriching and academically challenging environment that nurtures their growth.
Enrollment for the transitional kindergarten program begins in March and ends in May of the year prior to the one in which you wish to enroll your child. Please make note of the information we require for the registration of all TK students on the Registration page.
